Role Overview
As a drafter, you’ll work with engineers, technicians and designers on projects related to mining processes, industrial mechanics and piping, plant systems (water, steam, compressed air), industrial ventilation and building services. Your responsibilities include creating and updating process flow diagrams (PFD) and piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&), producing 2D and 3D piping and mechanical drawings under senior designer supervision, improving dynamic block libraries, drafting layout drawings, and preparing preliminary plans for buildings, equipment or sites.

- Help design 2D and 3D piping and mechanical drawings under senior designer supervision.
- Help improve dynamic block libraries and other internal tools.
- Work on layouts in accordance with corporate or client standards, including draft drawings, maps, charts and diagrams based on detailed sketches.
- Produce preliminary plans for buildings, equipment or sites using reference drawings or catalogues.
- Prepare simple diagrams, perform basic dimensional calculations and create final drawings using simple mechanical equipment diagrams.
- Help more experienced colleagues with more complex tasks.
- When required, help prepare site surveys.
- Diploma of vocational studies in building or industrial drafting or a diploma of college studies in civil, industrial or mechanical engineering or in architecture.
- At least one year of relevant experience.
- Proficiency with MS Office.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD.
- Advanced English skills to facilitate collaboration with other BBA offices and/or clients located in English‑speaking Canadian provinces and abroad.
- Advanced French skills to collaborate effectively with BBA offices and/or clients within Québec.
- Asset: knowledge of CAD (drafting and design), Solid Works, CADWorx or Revit.
