Position OverviewThe Tessent division seeks a highly motivated, creative, and energetic individual as Product Manager specializing in design-for-test (DFT). Tessent is a market and technology leader of automated tools for insertion of semiconductor design‑for‑test (DFT) structures, automatic test pattern generation (ATPG), embedded deterministic compression (EDT), memory built‑in self‑test (MBIST), logic built‑in self‑test (LBIST), diagnosis‑driven yield analysis (DDYA), hierarchical DFT solutions such as Streaming Scan Network (SSN), and analog fault injection and test.
As a Product Manager, you are part of the DFT Product Management team and are the primary business owner for your product area. Your challenge is to maximize the product's net value by enhancing the value the product delivers to well‑defined market segments. You will help develop the product and technology roadmap in collaboration with R&D and the Product Engineering team.
You will be a key spokesperson for the products at various customer and industry events. This position presents a great opportunity to focus on business, marketing, and product management while staying involved technically.
- Overall product line success as measured by profitability, revenue, and adoption.
- In collaboration with R&D, manage the development of product and technology roadmaps.
- Develop and execute realistic product strategies. Effectively communicate roadmaps and priorities upward to management across functional areas.
- Work with customers, field teams, and partners to understand customer needs and future challenges. Define, validate, track, and prioritize market and customer requirements.
- Work closely with other product managers to identify dependencies, challenges, and opportunities.
- Define and execute customer engagements, beta programs, and technology experiments.
- Develop go‑to‑market plans and manage new product launches.
- Be a product evangelist and domain subject matter expert; create and deliver impactful product presentations, white papers, technical papers, and contributed articles.
- Communicate effectively with external groups, internal stakeholders, and senior management.
- Travel as required, domestic and international.
- 8+ years of relevant experience in semiconductor or electronic design automation (EDA) industry.
- BS degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Experience in product marketing, product management, or sales with successful semiconductor industry customer engagements.
- Expert level knowledge in one or more of the following areas: DFT for complex ASICs/SoCs, Automatic Test Pattern Generation (ATPG), logic built‑in self‑test (LBIST), embedded memory test, IEEE 1687 IJTAG, hierarchical DFT, chip‑level integration, DFT architecture, packetized test delivery, IC design flow automation.
- Proven ability to coordinate and drive programs and projects successfully across multiple distributed cross‑functional teams.
- Excellent relationship‑building skills and conflict resolution abilities, with proven experience managing both technical discussions and interpersonal dynamics in a professional environment.
- Ability to identify future industry challenges and determine the customer value and revenue potential for solving those challenges.
- Exceptional verbal and written English language communication skills, including the ability to clearly explain product value propositions, competitive advantages, and roadmaps to technical audiences as well as executives/management.
- Experience with Tessent products is an advantage.
- Location can be remote, hybrid, or in‑office at the following Tessent locations:
Wilsonville (Oregon), Ottawa (Canada), Saskatoon (Canada), Santa Clara (California).
This position will be subject to U.S. export control requirements under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). Employment is contingent on either verifying the U.S. Person status or obtaining any necessary export license.
