Overview
Eaton’s Critical Power Solutions (CPS) Division is seeking a Field Service Electronics Technician to join our team of world-class customer service professionals. This position is based in the greater Baltimore, MD area and will be located remotely, working out of a home office within the immediate geographic area.
Position Overview Eaton’s CPS designs, manufactures, and services Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems, batteries, and electronic-based products to ensure power reliability in demanding applications. Our technicians deliver mission-critical solutions to customers’ energy management requirements.
In this role, you will perform on-site emergency repairs, start-up services, and preventative maintenance in an on-call environment with regional responsibility. Products include UPS systems, power distribution units, and batteries. You will provide technical support to customers and serve as the technical advisor for operational or maintenance aspects of system equipment.
The expected annual salary range for this role is $64,687.50 – $94,875.00. Salaries are based on candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

- High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of two (2) years of Power Systems, Battery technologies and/or Electronics experience (coursework and internship experience apply).
- Must possess and maintain a valid and unrestricted State Driver's license.
- Ability and willingness to undergo and pass customer entrance requirements, including periodic background checks and drug screenings.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship, now or in the future.
- No relocation is being offered for this role. This position is based remotely; candidates must reside within the greater Baltimore, MD area. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area.
- Associate’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, or a related field from an accredited institution, or currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience with Power Systems, Battery Technologies and/or Electronics.
- Ability to read schematic drawings and knowledge of troubleshooting, test and repair techniques.
- Electrical Technology Certificate from an accredited institution.
- Frequent travel to customer sites is required, up to 25% drive-time.
- Ability to work with other Field Service Technicians and take directions from the lead Field Service Technician on site.
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling, standing, climbing, bending, kneeling, and driving extended distances.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs or more with appropriate equipment.
- Strong understanding of single-phase and three-phase circuit theory; analog and digital electronics; and microprocessor controls and programming.
