CAD Technician

Technical Assurance, Inc. – Willoughby, Ohio

Technical Assurance, Inc. is a 100% employee‑owned, national building envelope consulting group. We deliver design and consulting solutions for roofing, façade, and structural projects across the U.S. Our team is growing, and we’re looking for a skilled CAD Technician to support project work on a full‑time basis.

Role Overview

The CAD Technician will assist with the preparation of building envelope design documents for commercial, retail, municipal, and institutional projects. This role is in‑office at our Willoughby, OH location with potential flexibility for hybrid or remote work. The ideal candidate must be able to reliably commute to Willoughby, OH.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare accurate, organized construction drawings in AutoCAD for building envelope projects, focusing on roofing, façade, and structural components.
  • Follow established drafting standards and project requirements.
  • Maintain clear file organization and documentation of project drawings.
  • Coordinate with Project Managers and CAD staff to ensure clarity and accuracy in drawings.
  • Work on multiple projects simultaneously while meeting project deadlines.
Qualifications
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in CAD Technologies, or equivalent work experience.
  • 1–5 years of experience using AutoCAD in an architectural/engineering setting.
  • Knowledge of general drafting practices across disciplines (architectural, structural, civil, mechanical).
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established drafting standards.
  • Clear communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with project teams.
  • Experience with building envelope design, 3D modeling, BIM/Revit, or dynamic blocks is a plus.
