The position is based in Towson, Maryland or Rockville, Maryland. This full‑time role offers 2–3 days per week of remote work, as agreed with the Transportation Group Leader.
Qualifications- Professional Engineer (PE) in Maryland, Virginia, or Washington DC (required)
- 8–12 years of experience in roadway, highway, and traffic control plan preparation, including past project management experience
- Proficiency with Micro Station/Open Roads and/or AutoCAD/Civil 3D
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Strong time‑management skills and ability to balance multiple projects
- Ability to identify and resolve project risks and design challenges
- Enjoy building and motivating teams
- Lead multi‑discipline teams to deliver transportation design projects, focusing on multi‑modal roadway projects
- Serve as liaison between client and project team, including external stakeholder agencies
- Manage all technical resources on the project team, including subconsultants
- Prepare task proposals and establish project pricing and budgets
- Develop project management plans and prepare monthly progress reports
- Maintain project schedules
- Lead or participate in client meetings and presentations
- Provide quality‑control reviews of submittals and deliverables
- Mentor and train junior staff
- Assist with production tasks (CADD drawings, reports, graphics/renderings, etc.)
- Assist Group Leader and Division Directors with business development and proposals
- Maintain positive working relationships with co‑workers, project managers, supervisors, and other team members
