Fire Alarm Systems Drafters
assist with creating unique design solutions to meet specific customer requirements for commercial building fire alarm systems in new and existing facilities. This team member recommendations for productivity improvements and cost reductions to increase customer satisfaction and job profitability.

hybrid role combining the flexibility of remote work with the benefits of in-person collaboration. Team members may be required from time to time to visit the Siemens local office and/or worksite based on project expectations, with the remaining time remote. Specific scheduling may vary based on team needs, project timelines, and individual performance.

• Assist Fire Alarm Systems Engineers with preparing fire alarm systems for buildings, including floorplan drawings with system device locations, riser diagrams, device wiring details, panel mounting and wiring details, bills of materials, and sequences of operations to meet the intent of the project plans, specifications, and contract documents.
• Assist Fire Alarm Systems Engineers with preparing general electrical calculations, including battery calculations, voltage drop calculations, conduit fills, power supply sizing, etc.
• Perform individual quality control reviews or peer to peer reviews, as requested, of engineering documents.
• Responsible to comply with AHJ requirements as directed.
• Make recommendations related to productivity improvement and cost reduction to increase customer satisfaction.
• Assist in choosing the appropriate mix of products and installation methods to provide the most cost-effective solution.
• Occasional travel will be required for important team gatherings, project kick-offs, strategic discussions, or training.

• High school diploma or state-recognized GED
• Demonstrated ability to read and interpret construction drawings
• Demonstrated knowledge of fire alarm system components
• Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office
• 6+ months of direct Siemens experience supporting fire alarm engineering for the National Operations Center
• 2+ years of experience engineering fire alarm systems
• 2+ years of proficiency in AutoCAD and design
• NICET Level I - Fire Alarm Systems certification and ability to obtain NICET Level II within 2 years
• Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship
• Must be 18 years of age and possessa valid driver's license with limited violations

• Associate or Bachelor’s Degree
• 5+ years of experience engineering fire alarm systems
• 5+ years of proficiency in AutoCAD and design
• EIT, ASHRE, NICET II or III - Fire Alarm Systems, or CISSP certifications
