If you are an experienced Product Development Engineer, Emerson has an opening for you! This position is based in our Marshalltown, Iowa location where you will play a critical role in shaping the future of Emerson's High Performance Butterfly Valve product line by creating innovative designs and pushing the boundaries of what is possible.
In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:- Lead technology development and design ownership of High Performance Butterfly Valves
- Interpret industry standards that pertain to High Performance Butterfly Valve design
- Create, document, and implement engineering best practices
- Develop concepts for new products, matching market requirements and establishing a competitive edge
- Review technical document packages to validate product performance against customer requirements, suggesting modifications where required
- Mentor less experienced engineers by providing guidance and direction on specific projects
- Select components and assemblies to ensure compliance with project specifications, including valves and other specified components
- Develop a comprehensive proposal for sizing and valve selection, etc.
- Ensure customer satisfaction through accuracy and timeliness of customer documentation
- Collaborate with individuals from other departments including R&D, Testing, and Supply Chain
- Establish and grow your professional network

For This Role, You Will Need:- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or similar engineering discipline
- 5+ years of related work experience in a product design or development role
- Demonstrated competency of engineering fundamentals & mechanical systems
- Solid modeling knowledge and experience using Solid Works 3D/Creo/Inventor or similar modeling software
- Proficient in engineering documentation, drafting, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
- Experience operating within Product Data Management and Product Lifecycle Management systems
- Demonstrated strong technical communication skills, both written and verbal
- Well organized, detail oriented and capable of handling multiple tasks simultaneously
- Legal Authorization to work in the United States – sponsorship will not be provided for this role
- Previous butterfly valve and other valve design experience is strongly preferred
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills
- Lean/ Six Sigma knowledge and/or certification
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment
