Please note that the Director of Software Engineering role is a Boston-based onsite position. We offer flexible Fridays that allow you to work from home if needed.

Emulate is actively seeking a visionary and accomplished Director of Software Engineering to lead our growing team of software engineers in delivering high-quality, scalable solutions for our Organ‑Chip platform. In this role, you will set the strategic direction for software development across robotic systems, data infrastructure, and embedded platforms. You will inspire and guide teams, foster cross‑functional collaboration, and uphold best‑in‑class software practices to support Emulate’s mission of revolutionizing human biology and health through innovation.

Desired

Skills & Experience:

• 10+ years of experience in software engineering with at least 4+ years in a senior leadership role.

• Demonstrated success building and leading engineering teams in high‑growth, complex technical environments.

• Experience with full‑stack development, embedded systems, and robotic software is a strong plus.

• Solid understanding of modern software practices including CI/CD, test automation, Dev Ops, and cloud infrastructure.
