Position: STRUCTURAL ENGINEER-IN-TRAINING (SEIT)

Specific Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

• Possess an in-depth understanding and ability to analyze and design according to current design codes, design criteria, and structural mechanics.
• Design permanent structures such as bridges, sign foundations, moment slabs, MSE walls, etc.
• Design temporary structures, including but not limited to:
• Formwork/Falsework Design
• Erection, Demolition, and Heavy Lift Planning
• Support of Excavation Systems
• Load Rating and Evaluation of Existing Structures
• Temporary Bridges and Work Trestles
• Fall Protection Systems
• Barge Analysis
• Provide on-site design engineering support and inspections.
• Coordinate with Project Engineers and Project Managers to resolve issues.
• Assist with material and shop drawing submittals.

Position Requirements:

• Bachelors and/or Masters Degree or higher in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited college or university (Masters Degree or greater is preferred).
• A GPA above 3.0 is highly preferred.
• 0-2 years of relevant engineering experience.
• Experience with permanent and temporary structures, construction engineering, or construction labor is a plus.
• Passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam or the ability to do so within the first year of employment.
• Strong understanding of constructability and academic knowledge of structural engineering.
• Experience with engineering design and drafting software such as AutoCAD, Micro Station, RISA-3D, MathCAD, Sky Civ, etc.
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Self-starter with the ability to work unsupervised.
• Team player and self-motivated to achieve success.
