Description
We are seeking a MBSE to join out team to support a cutting-edge defense initiative supporting a critical component of the DoW's Golden Dome Initiative. This strategic program aims to adapt and integrate parts of Isreal's Iron Dome missile system onto a mobile launcher for homeland and strategic asset defense.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Develop, manage, and decompose system-level requirements and interface specifications, which includes the following:
System, Subsystem, Specification (SSS) documents, Software Requirements Specifications (SRS) documents, Software Design Descriptions (SDDs), Requirements Traceability Verification Matrix (RTVM), Interface Requirements Specifications (IRS), and Hardware and Software/Firmware Interface Control Documents (ICDs) - Responsible for developing, maintaining, and delivering a Systems Engineering Design Model (SEDM) using tools like Magic Draw and CAMEO
- Work with key stakeholder’s models to capture interfaces for the propulsion, warhead, avionics, seeker, etc, within the SEDM
- Lead or support system architecture development and trade studies
- Support working groups, technical reviews, risk assessments, and milestone planning
- Collaborate across other technical teams including software, hardware, electrical, and modeling & simulation
- Interface with DoD customers and stakeholders, including authoring technical reports, program reviews, compliance requirements, and briefings
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.

Skills & Qualifications
Required Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related technical field
- 3–10 years of MBSE experience
- Experience in one or more of the following Missile defense systems (IBCS, GMD, THAAD, Aegis BMD, C2
BMC, etc.) - Experience with Cameo/Magic Draw and SysML
- Familiarity with MIL-STD software and hardware integration practices.
- Active DoD Secret clearance
- Must be willing to travel OCONUS for 2-3 trips a year (week at a time)
- Experience with Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA) architecture & Weapon Open Systems Architecture (WOSA), or Unified Architecture Framework (UAF)
- Experience supporting MDA, USASMDC, or Redstone Arsenal programs
- Familiarity with Agile, or digital engineering frameworks
- Strong technical writing and communication skills for engagement with government and industry leadership
This is a Contract position based out of Reston, VA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $60.00 - $80.00/hr.
