Remote Sensing / LiDAR Calibration Technician

This position is part of Insight Global’s Geospatial Department and involves coordinating and performing calibration of LiDAR and aerial imagery collected internally to support multiple markets and stakeholders.

Responsibilities and Scope

• Coordinate and perform LiDAR and aerial imagery calibration to ensure data accuracy.

• Conduct quality control checks and troubleshoot technical issues.

• Collaborate with survey teams, project leads, and vendors to maintain project performance.

• Develop standard operating procedures and stay current on industry advancements.

• Participate in training programs to enhance technical expertise.

Required Experience
  • 5+ years of experience or an associate degree (or equivalent) in geomatics, surveying, remote sensing, or related field.
  • Strong understanding of LiDAR and remote sensing principles, calibration techniques, and data processing.
  • Proficiency with Remote Sensing software and tools such as Terra Solid, Micro Station, Pos Pac, Meta Shape, Photoshop, Riegl processing suite, PLS‑CADD, TopoDOT.
  • Industry experience in power generation & delivery, DOT, and renewables.
  • Knowledge of scripting and light programming for automation.
  • Experience calibrating aerial datasets from manned and unmanned platforms.
  • Familiarity with surveying techniques and equipment for project control.
