Job SummaryJS Held’s Accident Reconstruction practice is seeking an experienced Accident Reconstruction Engineer. The ideal candidate has a strong interest in accident reconstruction and experience in expert witness testimony. In addition to core engineering work, candidates will develop business opportunities with current and prospective clients, mentor and train junior engineers, and occasionally present to clients and peers.
We are looking for a self‑motivated, professional, organized individual who performs well in a fast‑paced, collaborative consulting environment and can manage stress.
Key Responsibilities- Manage accident reconstruction projects and client relationships.
- Identify, develop, and secure new business opportunities.
- Conduct unbiased field investigations and testing of incidents and/or loss events.
- Provide technical findings, analysis, and conclusions verbally or in writing, timely and in layman’s terms.
- Travel for inspections, field work, marketing, and business development.
- Maintain communication with client and project team on status and scope of assigned projects.
- Maintain professional knowledge through continuing education, seminars, publications, and professional societies.
- Continuously meet or exceed assigned performance metrics and goals.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in an Engineering field preferred.
- Minimum of 15 years of post‑academic industry engineering experience preferred.
- ACTAR certification preferred.
- Foundation of testifying experience preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; experience in technical reports preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to deliver results; experience managing teams preferred.
- Mathematically and technologically inclined with the ability to adapt to new environments or scenarios quickly.
- Skilled with software and technical systems.
- Willingness and ability to obtain additional licensure and certification.
- Ability to work remotely or while traveling to different job sites; reliable cellular service, access to high‑speed data required.
- Willingness to exceed minimum performance and goal requirements.
- Master’s Degree.
- Must be able to travel to different regions throughout the United States; reliable transportation required.

A reasonable estimate of the salary range for this role is $150,000 - $250,000. Salary offers are based on a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, experience, training, location, scope of role, and management responsibility.
