Overview
Procurement Specialist – WHC Energy Services (WHC LLC, a Surerus Murphy Company) – Key role within the Power team. Responsible for ensuring that projects have the appropriate equipment and materials to meet the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare contract documents, including issuing and managing the bidding process for proposals and projects. Review project drawings to provide basic technical data for bidders.
- Lead and manage the bid evaluation process, preparing bid comparisons, collaborating with internal teams on technical evaluations, recommending awards, and presenting outcomes to project teams.
- Evaluate and negotiate supplier pricing, capability, quality, performance, and delivery to meet project requirements and leverage purchasing power.
- Implement and maintain procurement procedures on the corporate ERP system.
- Lead, coordinate, and manage the negotiation and award process, resolving commercial terms and conditions. Edit contract documents, create purchase orders, and revise contracts as needed.
- Issue and expedite purchase orders; administer contracts, including expediting delivery dates, obtaining vendor documentation, and coordinating receipt of materials.
- Communicate procurement status with internal project teams and external stakeholders on assigned projects.
- Maintain supplier relationships, stay current with industry advancements and new product offerings, and support the Procurement Manager on projects and other initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Law, Technical/Engineering, Construction or a related field (preferred).
Experience
- Minimum 2–3 years of EPC experience; procurement experience on Solar/Power EPC projects preferred.
Skills and Knowledge
- Ability to multitask across different projects and proposals.
- Experience editing contract documents and resolving commercial terms and conditions.
- Willingness to learn technical aspects of solar facilities, substations, and battery storage equipment.
Position based in the Woodlands, TX or Overland Park, KS office. Some travel may be required to project sites, home office, or other events.
Reporting RelationshipsReports to the Senior EPC Procurement Manager.
