Civil 3D Modeling Specialist

VEIT is on the leading edge of construction technology use in the civil construction industry. This position plays an important role in keeping our crews and grade control equipment constructing projects with accuracy and efficiency. Attention to detail, organization, and communication are key qualities for success. This position may be remote or office-based.

• Produces 3D models of site plans for use in GPS machine control and site staking/layout equipment.
• Identifies conflicts in design data for early resolution.
• Maintains a strong understanding of civil and commercial construction drawings/plans.
• Maintains standard data workflow processes.
• Prepares project take-offs for estimating teams in earthwork and utility groups.
• Prepares conducted surveys for earthwork quantity reporting and as-builts.
• Produces quantity reports for project managers and site superintendents.
• Processes and prepares 3D point cloud drone data for earthwork quantities to project teams.
• Maintains highly organized data structures and attention to detail.
• Communicates project updates with the team.
• Standardizes 3D models received from engineers.
• Other projects or duties as assigned by management.

• Two years’ minimum related experience or related experience.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office 365.
• Working knowledge of Trimble software, including Trimble Business Center, Agtek, AutoCAD Civil 3D software suite and drone processing software preferred.
• Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to clearly communicate directions and information to all levels of management, employees, vendors, and business associates. Effective public speaking and collaboration.
• Team-oriented with the ability to listen, collaborate, and communicate among colleagues and internal customers with professionalism.
• Willingness to pursue training and development opportunities to continuously build knowledge.

• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test.
• Requires 8 to 10-hour workdays Monday - Friday, with occasional weekends as needed.
