Field Service Electronics Technician
Join Eaton as a Field Service Electronics Technician in the Critical Power Solutions (CPS) division. This role is based in the greater Seattle, WA area and will work remotely from a home office within that geographic area.
CompensationExpected annual salary range: $70,000 - $99,000.
What You’ll DoEaton designs, manufactures, and services uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems, batteries, and electronic-based products to ensure power reliability in demanding applications. As a technician, you will perform on‑site emergency repairs, start‑ups, and preventative maintenance in an on‑call environment with regional responsibility.
Responsibilities include:
- On‑site emergency repairs, start‑ups, and preventative maintenance for UPS systems, power distribution units, and batteries.
- Providing technical support and serving as a technical advisor for operational or maintenance aspects of system equipment.
- Frequent travel to customer sites (up to 75% drive‑time).
- Working with other field service technicians and following directions from the lead technician on site.
- Executing routine lifting and movement tasks, including carrying and moving up to 50 lbs.
- Interpreting schematic drawings and troubleshooting electronic and power systems.
- Using test equipment such as oscilloscopes and phase rotation/phase alignment tools.
- Adhering to safety and company/customer rules.
- Maintaining proficiency on products and field processes before field deployment.
- Providing high‑quality service, using PC proficiency, and communicating effectively.

- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in power systems, battery technologies, and/or electronics (coursework and internship experience accepted).
- Valid, unrestricted state driver’s license.
- Willingness to undergo background check and drug screening.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Should reside within the greater Seattle, WA area (remote role; active duty military exempt).
- Associate’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, or related field or enrollment in a bachelor’s engineering program.
- Minimum 3 years of experience with power systems, batteries, and/or electronics.
- Ability to read schematic drawings.
- Electrical Technology Certificate from an accredited institution.
- Frequent travel to sites (up to 75% drive‑time).
- Ability to work collaboratively with other technicians.
- Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs or more with assist equipment.
- Good understanding of single‑phase and three‑phase circuit theory, analog/digital electronic theory, and microprocessor controls.
- Proficiency in oscilloscopes, phase rotation, and phase alignment checks.
- Basic knowledge of network functionality and battery theory.
- Proper use of hand tools and insulated tools.
- Commitment to safety and company/customer rules.
- PC proficiency:
Windows, Office, Outlook. - Strong written and oral communication skills.
