Electrical Facilities Engineer; remote
Description
As an Electrical Facilities Engineer
, you will be a technical leader in the design and optimization of Fervo’s innovative well pad facilities that deliver geothermal brine to / from the power facilities. You will apply advanced engineering judgment and first-principles analysis to develop high-performance, cost-effective electrical system designs, while collaborating with other engineers focused on the power plant system design and influencing cross-disciplinary decision-making. As Fervo transitions from first-of-a-kind projects to scaling deployment of its plants, you will play a key role in driving standardization and efficiency improvements across projects.
You will report to the Well Pad Facilities Lead Engineer.
- Technical Execution:
Own specification generation, design, and analysis of electrical systems for well pad facilities (well field electrical equipment, power delivery, systems, transmission, etc.) - Technical Execution:
Drive first-principles tradeoff analysis across power delivery systems to optimize system performance - Technical Execution:
Identify opportunities to simplify and accelerate designs while maintaining technical excellence - Technical Execution:
Inform and support procurement efforts relating to electrical scopes of well pad designs - Team and Culture:
Demonstrate extreme ownership by taking responsibility for cost, safety, and constructability in addition to design - Team and Culture:
Work with urgency and resilience, embracing rapid iteration and maintaining high performance under pressure - Team and Culture:
Collaborate closely across disciplines (process, mechanical, reservoir, drilling, construction) as well as with external partners to drive integrated solutions - Team and Culture:
Contribute to a culture of technical excellence and accountability, modeling the values that define a world-class engineering team
- B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
- 4+ years of experience in electrical engineering on large capital projects, preferably involving upstream well sites, gathering systems, and production infrastructure
- Hands-on experience designing and commissioning medium- and high-voltage power distribution and electrical systems supporting well field operations
- Proven background integrating electrical systems into upstream facilities, ensuring reliability, safety, and compliance with industry standards
- Proven ability to execute design, analysis, and field support for complex electrical systems within multidisciplinary project teams
- Strong communication skills; with the ability to clearly convey technical information and collaborate effectively across engineering, operations, and external partners
