The CAD Drafter is primarily responsible for drafting and blueprint creation, technical order entry, document control, computer system/database management, and some methods/routing documentation maintenance.

• Create working drawings for all stages of the component build process
• Create working drawings from the measurement of solid customer samples
• Maintain daily part revisions throughout the entire drawing and database system
• Assist in the creation, revision and modification of part routings
• Control all drawings within document control system and protocols
• Assist in the continuous updating and upgrading of MRP system
• Other engineering and administrative duties and projects as assigned

• At least an Associate’s Degree in STEM-related discipline or equivalent work experience
• 2-4 years of experience with Solid Works software or similar
• Proficiency with blueprint drawing using Solid Works or equivalent
• Familiarity with blueprint reading, drawing and tolerancing disciplines
• Familiarity with 3D viewing, imaging, and drawing of complex geometries
• Proficient in basic math, including algebra, geometry, and trigonometry
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point
• Basic knowledge of relational databases
• Strong communication and writing skills
• Ability to work with other team members at all corporate levels
• Ability to work independently in a self-motivated fashion
• Strong organizational skills with high-performing work prioritization and time management
• Ability to multitask and handle stressful work deadlines

• 4+ years drafting experience
• Hands‑on experience with manufacturing
• Hands‑on experience with measurement systems

The compensation range for this position is $59,700–$89,500, depending on experience. This position may be eligible for a performance‑based bonus plan.

• Climate‑controlled office setting with occasional visits to production areas
• Occasional bending, squatting, reaching, and lifting up to 25 lbs.
• May require travel by air or car to attend conferences or visit customer sites
• Remote/home office environments may vary

• Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) or safety gear, provided by STC
• Fine motor skills, hand–eye coordination, and visual focus for detailed tasks, including tool use, computer work, or microscope inspection
