Base pay range$75.00/hr - $100.00/hr
An Engineering Manager is required for a large Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) power project north of Austin, Texas. This long-term, field-based W-2 contract role supports the EPC team by managing on-site engineering execution, discipline coordination, and technical issue resolution for the construction phase.
Responsibilities- Provide on-site leadership and coordination of mechanical, electrical, civil, and I&C engineering teams.
- Serve as the primary engineering interface between the field, home office engineering, construction, and commissioning teams.
- Oversee engineering deliverables to ensure alignment with construction sequencing and schedule.
- Manage technical issue resolution, RFIs, field changes, and design clarifications.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary interfaces and resolve constructability and installation challenges.
- Support change management, cost impacts, and schedule implications related to engineering decisions.
- Ensure engineering compliance with project specifications, codes, and standards.
- Support system completion, turnover documentation, and commissioning readiness activities.
- 10+ years of engineering experience on industrial or power generation projects.
- Prior experience in an Engineering Manager or Lead Engineer role on EPC projects.
- Strong background in CCGT, thermal power, or large industrial construction projects preferred.
- Experience managing multidisciplinary engineering teams in a field-based environment.
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing, constructability, and commissioning requirements.
- Excellent communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work full-time on site in support of active construction.
- Competitive hourly W-2 pay based on experience.
