Field Service Electronics Technician
Eaton’s Critical Power Solutions (CPS) Division is currently seeking a Field Service Technician to join our world‑class customer service team. The role is located in the greater Seattle, WA area and is performed remotely from a home office within the same geographic region.
The expected annual salary range for this role is $70,000 - $99,000. Salary is a general guideline and is based on candidate skills, experience and market considerations.
What you’ll doIn this on‑call position you will perform on‑site emergency repairs, start‑up services and preventative maintenance for UPS systems, power‑distribution units, batteries and related electronics. You will provide technical support and serve as an advisor on operational and maintenance aspects of system equipment.

- High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of two (2) years of Power Systems, Battery technologies and/or Electronics experience (coursework and internship experience apply).
- Valid and unrestricted State Driver’s license.
- Willingness to undergo and pass customer entrance requirements, including background checks and drug screening.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
- No relocation is being offered. Candidates must reside within the greater Seattle, WA area (active‑duty military service members are exempt).
- Associate’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, or a related field, or currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience with Power Systems, Battery Technologies and/or Electronics.
- Ability to read schematic drawings and knowledge of troubleshooting, test and repair techniques.
- Electrical Technology Certificate from an accredited institution.
- Frequent travel to customer sites is required, with up to 75% of drive‑time expected.
- Ability to work with other Field Service Technicians and take directions from the lead Technician on site.
- Incumbent may be required to perform repetitive lifting/carrying; pushing/pulling; standing; climbing; squatting; bending; kneeling; or driving extended distances.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs or more using assist equipment or a two‑man lift.
- Good understanding of single‑phase and three‑phase circuit theory; analog and digital electronic circuit theory; and microprocessor controls and programming.
- Understands how to use an oscilloscope.
- Understands how to perform phase rotation and alignment checks.
- Basic understanding of network functionality and sealed and wet‑cell battery theory and application.
- Knows the proper use of hand‑tools and insulated tools.
- Comprehends safety requirements and complies with company and customer safety rules.
- Must demonstrate field proficiency before being dispatched to the field.
- Provides high‑quality service.
- Self‑starter and motivator.
- PC proficiency with Microsoft Windows, Office and Outlook.
- Proven strong written and oral communication skills.
- Periodically supports customer needs outside the immediate region within the USA.
