Who We Are

Thermo Systems is a global, full-service control systems integrator delivering world-class automation and SCADA solutions in the Energy, Life Sciences, and Mission Critical markets. Our culture—The Thermo Way—is built on connection, adaptability, and integrity. We focus on employee success, customer success, and financial strength, creating a high-trust, team-driven environment where people perform their best.

The Opportunity

We’re seeking an experienced SCADA Project Engineer to lead AVEVA System Platform design, configuration, and commissioning on one of the most advanced data center programs in the world. You’ll own the full SCADA lifecycle—from concept to turnover—partnering with project managers, field teams, and client representatives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

This role is ideal for a hands-on AVEVA expert who enjoys solving complex problems, engaging directly with clients, and growing into technical leadership on high-visibility projects.

Why You’ll Love This Role
  • Technical ownership: Lead the full AVEVA SCADA lifecycle, setting standards and ensuring quality delivery.
  • Real impact:
Support a world-class data center build where your work drives uptime and efficiency.
  • High visibility:
Collaborate with field, client, and commissioning teams on mission-critical systems.
  • Growth and exploration:
Build leadership and technical depth through company-funded travel and a living stipend.
  • Robust travel support:
Competitive per-diem and travel stipend covering lodging, meals, and incidentals.
  • Relocation options:
Permanent, short-term, or temporary relocation assistance available.
  • Post-ramp flexibility:
After the initial onsite phase, experienced SCADA/PLC/Ignition engineers may be eligible for a hybrid schedule with partial remote work and up to 50% travel.
What You’ll Do
  • Design and integrate AVEVA System Platform, Historian, and OMI dashboards for high-reliability BMS/SCADA systems.
  • Review I/O schedules, P&IDs, and network topologies for SCADA compatibility; issue RFIs and design clarifications.
  • Configure AVEVA objects, tags, alarming, redundancy, and visualization; manage PLC data exchange (Modbus, BACnet, OPC UA, MQTT).
  • Coordinate network and cybersecurity design (VLANs, firewalls, IEC 62443 hardening).
  • Lead FAT/SAT testing, commissioning, and turnover documentation.
  • Serve as the primary SCADA contact for clients, field teams, and subcontractors.
  • Mentor junior engineers and uphold Thermo’s Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Identify add-scope opportunities and contribute to pricing and proposal efforts.
What You Bring
  • Education: B.S. in Electrical, Mechanical, Computer, or Controls Engineering (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience: 4+ years with industrial SCADA systems, including 2+ years leading AVEVA System Platform projects.
  • Technical Skills: PLC integration (Rockwell, Siemens, Schneider) and industrial networking proficiency.
  • Bonus Points: AVEVA Certified Developer; exposure to PI System, Insight, Predictive Analytics, or digital twins.
  • Soft Skills: Strong communicator, problem solver, and collaborator comfortable in fast-paced, field-driven work.
Work Authorization & Requirements
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the U.S.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Fit for duty at all times.

We live our core values every day:

  • Drive Employee Success: Build trust, support teammates, and promote a positive environment.

What You’ll Get

  • 401(k) with company match
  • Multiple low-cost healthcare plan options
  • Paid time off (PTO) and company holidays
  • Training and certification support, including tuition reimbursement
  • Living stipend or relocation assistance based on assignment
  • Casual, team-oriented culture with events, free lunches, and company swag
