VDC Mechanical Lead – Fully Remote Position

A federal contractor is seeking a VDC Mechanical Lead to support and coordinate all aspects of Building Information Modeling (BIM) related to mechanical and plumbing systems. This role is responsible for developing, coordinating, and managing 3D models through collaboration with design consultants, preconstruction teams, operations, and supply chain partners. The VDC Mechanical Lead ensures quality, accuracy, and compliance with contract requirements on high‑profile federal projects.

• Lead BIM production, coordination, and management for mechanical and plumbing systems.
• Develop, implement, and maintain 3D BIM models to support design and construction teams.
• Perform clash detection and resolution across architectural, structural, and MEP disciplines.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including design consultants and construction operations.
• Support the development and implementation of BIM standards and best practices.
• Contribute to field construction efforts and coordinate with site teams when required.
• Facilitate 3D scan model collaboration and integration into project workflows.

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related A/E/C discipline.
• 5+ years of BIM design experience, including clash detection and design coordination.
• 5+ years working with architecture, engineering, MEP systems, and construction.
• Proficiency with:
  • Revit
  • Navisworks
  • AutoCAD
  • Bluebeam
  • Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • BIM
    360 / Autodesk Docs
• Field construction experience preferred.
• Experience preparing and implementing BIM standards preferred.
• U.S. citizenship strongly preferred due to federal project requirements; ability to comply with government contractor background and security processes required.

• Salary: $85,000 – $110,000
