This role represents a chance for an individual to develop a professional career within mapping and consultancy. You will be joining a well-established team undertaking a variety of surveys across the UK and you will have the full support and training from the team, allowing you to develop and learn new skills whilst making a positive contribution to the group. We expect this role to be based out of our London office, but are happy to consider other locations in the south east as well as a remote role.
SLR has a busy, well established Land Survey team which provides Geomatic surveying throughout the country, offering our experience in a wide range of industries for topographical surveying services. The team manages various surveying contracts in specific detail for a range of clients including minerals/waste operators, residential/commercial developers, civil/petrochemical/power engineering firms and more. The team prides itself on understanding the importance of the client’s requirements for site surveys, setting out, and design, providing consistency with its professional digital capability.
Our Land Survey team sits within a wider Geospatial and Data Solutions team. This team comprises CAD specialists, GIS analysts, Data Scientists and Developers. Being part of this wider structure gives the opportunity work with fellow professionals and develop wider skills in the Geospatial field.

Due to the nature of the work and sites visited, the role will require regular travel throughout the UK and potentially further afield and this means that working away from home during the week on some projects will be required.
The roleYour main responsibilities will include assisting the surveyor(s) across a variety of fieldwork projects throughout the UK with respect to briefs and specifications. As experience and skills develop you will be required to work both independently and within a team on projects from start to finish showing initiative and responsibility to deliver surveys to a high standard. You will also be processing and producing survey plans in LSS and AutoCAD, volumetric calculations and reports.

You will have a Bachelor’s degree qualification or similar in Land Surveying/Geomatics.
You Will Be Able To Demonstrate The Following- Proven surveying experience using GNSS and total Stations
- Knowledge of using AutoCAD and LSS
- Knowledge and experience of using Word and Excel and other Microsoft product.
- Hardworking and able to self-motivate.
- Strong communication skills to engage with both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative team environment.
- A proactive approach to learning and contributing to team development.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- The ability to work outdoors over difficult terrain, UK wide
