Civil Design Engineer (Engineer I or II)

What You’ll Do

• Develop engineering site plans and construction documents using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Design stormwater management systems, including grading, piping, and stormwater quality and quantity controls.
• Perform hydrologic and hydraulic modeling for diverse public and private projects.
• Prepare technical reports such as:
  • Stormwater Management Reports
  • Erosion & Sediment Control Plans
  • SWPPP and SPCC Plans
• Conduct quantity take-offs and cost estimates.
• Participate in field investigations and provide construction oversight.
• Attend and lead project progress meetings, pre-bid, and pre-construction sessions.
• Engage with clients and represent the team at industry conferences and municipal meetings.

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• 1–4 years of experience in water resources or civil engineering, with skills in:
  • Site layout and grading
  • Erosion and sediment control plans
  • Stormwater management design
• Familiarity with hydrology and hydraulics software such as:
  • Hydro
    
    CAD®, AutoCAD Storm & Sanitary Analysis
  • Bentley Storm
    
    CAD, Bentley Civil Storm
  • EPA SWMM, HEC-RAS
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements for stormwater, land development, and water quality.
• Strong communication skills and a proactive, team-oriented mindset.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in civil land development, stream restoration, floodplain analysis, and permitting.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D (2022 or later).
• Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Raleigh, NC.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $80,000.00 - $/yr.

Benefits: offers a competitive benefit package consisting of medical, dental, vision, and disability insurance. 401k package that includes both traditional and Roth IRA options and company match. Paid time off contingent upon full‑time or part‑time status and level of seniority (ranging from 15 to 25 days per year). All full‑time employees enjoy a minimum of 8 paid holidays per year.
