Enbridge is actively seeking an Engineer II. This dynamic person will be responsible for utilizing DNV Synergi Gas hydraulic modeling software to perform gas network analysis and requirements for construction projects, system improvements, new customer requests, and master planning. What You Will Do- Perform calculations that include, but are not limited to, analysis of gas system pressures, velocities, flows, regulator and pipe sizing and capacities, and damage assessments.
- Export and analyze data from the hydraulic model.
- Propose recommendations for system improvements backed up by modeling and data analysis.
- Predict future growth patterns and apply predictions to the system model.
- Collaborate with several groups within the company to acquire information to assist in analyses.
- Communicate highly technical results and analysis methodologies used in standard and non‑standard assessments, results, limitations, etc. to department leadership and team members through presentations and written communications.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
- A minimum of 2 years of technical experience in two or more of the following areas:
- Risk Management related to Oil & Gas assets
- Pipeline integrity related projects and programs
- Research‑related projects requiring review of industry literature, interpretation of various data types, and generation of conclusions and recommendations based on findings.
- Knowledge of the Code of Federal Regulations Part 192, ASME B31.8S, CSA Z662, and other industry regulations and standards.
- Proficiency in Excel, Pivot Tables and Power BI, MS Office Suite and statistical tools (Python packages, MATLAB, @Risk).
- Strong critical thinking skills related to both technical problems and project management and the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders.
- Knowledge and application of engineering theories and principles, concepts, and fundamentals.
- Competency in applying engineering principles, fundamental concepts, practices and procedures requiring some evaluation, originality, or ingenuity to achieve project objectives.
- Developmental experience in a professional engineering position.
- Ability to perform engineering calculations using applicable software programs.
- Planning, organizational, and project management skills.
- Ability to develop and exercise leadership skills.
- Effective decision‑making skills.
- Effective oral and written communication skills, including technical writing.
- Ability to think analytically and solve complex problems.
- Ability to review and interpret engineering drawings and plan sets.
- Ability to interpret codes, regulations, and practices.
- Effective working independently or in a team environment.
- Ability to process information quickly and effectively manage multiple tasks.
- Familiarity with DNV Synergi Gas or equivalent hydraulic modeling software.
- Familiarity with SQL database scripts.
- Familiarity with Visual Basic for Applications (VBA).
- Understanding GIS mapping applications and shapefile creation and manipulation.
- Office location:
Desk work using computers and software. - Required to manage tight timelines with limited information in some instances.
