Position Summary
The Senior Performance Assurance Specialist supports all measurement and verification activities throughout project development, execution, and the performance period. This role partners with project development teams to finalize projects by preparing measurement, sampling, and performance assurance plans, and by reviewing energy savings calculations for accuracy, validity, and repeatability. The Senior Specialist ensures data integrity, sound assumptions, and reliable engineering calculations to confirm performance outcomes are sustained over the life of the contract.
Position Details
* Coordinates the performance assurance process during implementation phase and throughout contract performance period including coordination of all federally mandated witnessing procedures.
* Monitors data gathering systems to track energy consumption during implementation and performance period.
* Collects and analyzes data during project execution to ensure that Energy Conservation Measures are performing as expected.
* Conducts performance assurance activities during the construction phase to calculate construction period savings based on as-built scope.
* Coordinates with construction staff to ensure that all equipment required for performance assurance is installed and calibrated as required.
* Recognizes potential shortfalls and elevates to management attention.
* Actively participates in the preparation of and execution of any required shortfall mitigation plans to minimize Southland's performance risk while managing customer expectations.
* Prepares annual performance reports and conducts meetings with owners and clients to review energy performance targets on executed projects.
* Conducts recurring meetings with clients during the performance period to discuss project performance against contractual obligations, and to identify and resolve performance issues.
Qualifications
* Demonstrated knowledge of energy project contracting tools, processes, and Measurement & Verification protocols.
* Good working knowledge of leveraging EMCS systems to monitor and capture data in support of saving verification.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills.
* Experienced in issues related to baseline adjustment approaches, managing client expectations and communication with high-level client leadership regarding project performance and achieved savings.
* Very strong Microsoft Excel skills and proficient with other Microsoft Office products including Word and PowerPoint.
* Effective at managing multiple projects, prioritizing and coordinating activities in order to meet deadlines.
* Ability to interact with internal team and external high-level client leadership in a way that promotes problem identification, shared understanding and willingness to work towards a solution.
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or equivalent experience.
* Certified M&V Professional required
* Minimum 6 years of performance assurance experience.
* Ability to travel occasionally, up to 25%
* Ability conduct regular and extensive job walks.
