HII is seeking a Nuclear Program Manager Engineer to join the team! This position will be located in Stirling, Western Australia or Canberra, ACT. The Nuclear Program Manager Engineer is responsible for overseeing and managing nuclear projects, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, optimizing engineering processes, and leading multidisciplinary teams. This role involves strategic planning, technical leadership, and stakeholder coordination to ensure the successful execution of nuclear-related initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead the planning, development, and execution of nuclear programs, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and regulatory standards.
- Ensure adherence to nuclear safety and environmental regulations, liaising with regulatory agencies.
- Provide expert guidance on nuclear engineering principles, safety procedures, and operational efficiency.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including government agencies, contractors, and research institutions.
- Identify and address potential risks in nuclear operations to enhance safety and performance.
- Manage program budgets, optimize resources, and ensure cost-effective project execution.
- Drive innovation in nuclear technology, exploring advancements in reactor design, fuel systems, and safety protocols.
- Supervise engineering teams, providing mentorship, technical support, and performance evaluations.
- 8 years relevant progressive experience with Bachelors in related field; 6 years relevant progressive experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 12 years relevant progressive experience.
- 7+ years of experience in nuclear engineering, project management, or a related field.
Proven leadership in nuclear programs with demonstrated expertise in reactor operations, nuclear fuel systems, or radiation safety. - Knowledge of nuclear reactor systems, radiation protection principles, and thermodynamics.
