HII Mission Technolgoies is seeking a HVAC CAD Engineer to support our customer in Chesapeake, VA. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating, modifying, and managing detailed engineering drawings and designs for HVAC systems using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software. You'll work closely with project managers, engineers, and technicians to ensure all designs meet project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.

This position requires strong technical proficiency, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. This position is contingent upon contract award.

• Works closely with design originators preparing drawings of unusual, complex or original design.
• Prepares drawings, which require a high degree of precision.
• Performs unusually difficult assignments requiring considerable initiative, resourcefulness, and drafting expertise.
• Assures that anticipated problems in manufacture, assembly, installation and operation are resolved by the drawing produced.
• Exercises independent judgment in selecting and interpreting data based on knowledge of the design intent.
• Ability to gain knowledge with all tools of the trade (CAD program, rulers, compass, divider, calculator etc.) and of drafting and design standards.
• Provides advice, guidance, and instruction to drafters.
• May serve as primary point of contact for complex drafting projects.
• Ability to prepare a complete drawing package without supervision.
• Ability to lead site visits to vessels and shore sites to gather technical data for drawing development.
• Calculates weight and moments changes as a result of drawing.
• Calculates electrical loads or heat loads for specific drawing and provide proper breakers, cable type/size or heat exchanger for requirements.
• Selects proper material for structural members.
• Assists Electrical/Mechanical Engineers for stress/electrical/mechanical calculations.
• Revises drawings to reflect As-Installed Conditions.
• Train for LiDAR scanning.
