Senior Manufacturing Process Engineer

Overview

Whirlpool is seeking qualified candidates for a Senior Machine Shop Process Engineer opening to join our Kitchen Aid organization. This is an onsite role at our Greenville, OH location.

• Identify, analyze and solve manufacturing process issues and equipment-related problems to continuously improve safety, quality, delivery, cost, and people KPIs.
• Drive machine shop process improvements using lean manufacturing concepts and tools.
• Lead improvements in equipment to achieve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) targets to meet volume goals.
• Provide technical support to technicians and work teams; serve as a technical resource for the department.
• Support day-to-day operations; scope, order, and implement new processes and equipment.
• Determine root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions using lean and Six Sigma methods.
• Direct cross-functional process improvement projects with team members from across the division.
• Analyze, evaluate, and document standards per quality system requirements (SOPs, Control Plans, FMEAs).
• Provide a critical link between the department and other process partners such as product design, assembly, paint, maintenance, safety, and quality.
• Initiate problem solving and conduct root cause analysis with the team.
• Implement cost-saving projects and special assignments as required.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
• 3+ years of manufacturing experience in an engineering role

• Backshop experience (CNC, Automation, Polishers, Robots, etc.)
• Strong knowledge of lean principles and the ability to apply them to establish or improve processes
• Working knowledge of GD&T
• Outstanding interpersonal skills; ability to act as a team leader and collaborate across the organization
• Strong mechanical knowledge
• Excellent planning, project management, and leadership skills
• Strong communication, presentation, and facilitation skills
• Experience in a manufacturing environment with an understanding of plant operations
• Solid decision-making and judgment skills; resourceful in achieving objectives
• Controls and robotics experience
• Proven problem-solving skills with knowledge of Six Sigma methodologies
