Your Opportunity
Stantec is seeking a motivated and skilled Drainage Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development of transportation and infrastructure projects through the implementation of sustainable drainage solutions. Key Responsibilities
- Lead drainage analysis and design for transportation projects.
- Perform hydrologic tasks such as drainage basin delineation, processing topography, soils, and land-use data, and conducting hydrologic analyses using methods like Rational Method, HEC-HMS, SWMM, and stream gage analysis.
- Conduct hydraulic modeling using tools like HEC-RAS and SRH-2D for bridges, culverts, and open channels.
- Design storm sewer systems, roadside ditches, erosion countermeasures, and water quality BMPs.
- Prepare technical reports, exhibits, and stormwater management plans.
- Ensure compliance with FEMA floodplain regulations, including CLOMR/LOMR submittals.
- Utilize Civil 3D, ArcGIS, and Micro Station/Open Roads for data collection and transformation.
- Convert coordinate systems and projections to support design and analysis.
- Support business development by preparing proposals, scopes, fee estimates, and participating in client presentations.
- Proficient in hydrology, hydraulics, and stormwater management.
- Skilled in software such as HEC-RAS, Civil 3D, HY-8, ArcGIS, and SRH-2D.
- Familiarity with FEMA regulations and floodplain management.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with technical report writing expertise.
- Self-motivated and capable of working on multiple projects concurrently.
- Experience in transportation drainage design is a plus.
- Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 10 years’ relevant professional experience.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Colorado or ability to obtain it within six months.

Pay Range:
• Locations in VT, & Various CA, NY Areas - Min Salary $ - Max Salary $
• Locations in CO, HI, MD & Various CA, NJ Areas - Min Salary $ - Max Salary $
Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
