- Review and evaluate permit applications, reports, and facility designs for mining and industrial facilities
- Participate in site visits and inspections regarding environmental compliance
- Perform complex environmental calculations based on established methodologies
- Provide technical guidance to ensure compliance with environmental laws and regulations
- Assist in preparing environmental guidance documents and lead projects under senior staff direction
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Civil, Mining, or Chemical Engineering
- Level 2:
Minimum 2 years of relevant experience;
Master’s or Doctorate degree may substitute for experience - Level 3:
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience;
Master’s degree may substitute for 2 years, Doctorate may substitute for 4 years - Strong communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment
- Knowledge of mining operations or industrial processes, with experience in tailings dams or leach pads preferred
- Engineer in Training or Professional Engineer certification
- Experience with project management principles
- Familiarity with Agency policies and environmental regulations
- Proven ability to provide innovative solutions to compliance issues
- Experience in customer service and outreach
