Compliance Engineer

Workplace: TOPCON office in Concordia sulla Secchia (MO) or Turin

The job can be performed 100% remote (Italy)

with visit to our TOPCON office when required

Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve internal processes related to cybersecurity and regulatory compliance
  • Integrate cybersecurity compliance requirements early into the product design and development lifecycle to ensure security-by-design principles.
  • Create and maintain documentation templates, checklists, and software tools to streamline compliance workflows.
  • Collaborate with third-party suppliers, external partners, and certification bodies to ensure adherence to relevant standards and regulations.
  • Manage the certification process, including issuing, renewing, and tracking certificates and declarations of conformity.
  • Maintain detailed technical documentation, including technical files, risk assessments, and Declarations of Conformity (DoC).
  • Support the technical development teams in implementing and verifying compliance requirements during product development.
  • Conduct risk assessments related to cybersecurity and safety design, identifying potential compliance gaps and recommending mitigation strategies
  • Perform audits and assessments of internal processes and external suppliers to ensure compliance standards are met.
  • Provide training and guidance to team members on compliance standards, cybersecurity best practices, and regulatory updates.
  • Contacting regulatory authorities and certification bodies to analyze and solve certain problems
Minimum Requirements

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Electronics, or Computer Engineering);
    Master’s degree preferred
  • From Five years’ experience in cybersecurity standards, regulations, and compliance processes (EU RED, CRA)

Knowledge, Skills, and Attributes:

  • Strong technical background in hardware and/or software engineering, with understanding of secure design principles.
  • Experience in managing cybersecurity or safety certification projects for hardware and software products.
  • Knowledge of relevant legal and regulatory requirements for product safety (ISO 13849, ISO 25119, ISO 26262)
  • Familiarity with technical documentation, including risk assessments, technical files, and Declarations of Conformity.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders and external partners.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to interpret complex technical and legal requirements and translate them into practical implementation steps.
  • Good communication skills, capable of explaining compliance issues to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proactive mindset with the ability to stay updated on industry standards, regulations, and emerging threats.
  • English language: The good knowledge of the English language is mandatory to perform the job
