Overview
Our client is a rapidly scaling energy storage investment and development platform focused on utility scale battery projects across Germany and selected European markets. Backed by long term institutional capital, the business is building a large multi-market pipeline with a clear strategy centred on disciplined acquisitions, value creation through development, and selective capital recycling.
Key Responsibilities- Source and qualify acquisitions of battery storage project rights, maintaining a structured, stage gated, and probability weighted pipeline
- Build and manage relationships with developers, IPPs, brokers, and financial advisors to originate proprietary opportunities
- Evaluate opportunities using transaction models with clearly documented commercial and technical assumptions
- Coordinate cross functional due diligence across grid, permitting, land, environmental, technical, and legal work streams
- Prepare investment committee materials and recommendations, briefing senior leadership on transaction progress and risks
- Lead negotiations on LOIs, term sheets, share and asset transactions, development and co development agreements, and manage conditions through to closing
- Standardise due diligence processes, including checklists, model structures, templates, and internal dashboards

Experience and Qualifications- 5-8+ years of experience in project M&A or acquisitions within energy or infrastructure, including developers, IPPs, funds, utilities, or advisory firms
- Demonstrated track record of closing rights, SPV, or platform level transactions for generation or storage assets
- Professional level German and fluent English
- Strong familiarity with German regulation and corporate law, including asset and share transactions, notarial processes, land and permitting pathways, and grid connection processes
- Advanced Excel capability for transaction modelling, scenario analysis, and sensitivities, alongside strong PowerPoint skills
- Experience with utility scale battery storage commercial structures and revenue models is a strong advantage
