CAM Technical Manager (CTM)

Saratech is seeking a highly skilled engineering specialist for the CAM Technical Manager role. The CTM will manage projects from a technical perspective, bridging the gap between developers, project managers, and the Center of Excellence. Responsibilities include discovery calls with customers, project kick‑offs, quoting, team leadership, and communication with the PM group. The CTM must be a creative problem solver and solutions developer, with an advanced degree and at least 15 years of experience in Computer‑Aided Manufacturing and Programming.

$60 – $65 per hour

• 20+ years of CNC Programming experience
• Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing or engineering (or equivalent proven experience)
• Aerospace manufacturing experience
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent teamwork and collaboration across levels
• Strong organization and time‑management abilities
• Working knowledge of lean manufacturing and proven change‑implementation skills
• Strong problem‑solving capabilities
• Proficiency in MS Office; experience with Unigraphics (CAD/CAM) highly desired

• Prototype machining by creating and editing CNC programs for large‑scale, complex, precision metal aircraft components and tooling
• Perform machining process development and optimization (part setup/fixturing, machining strategy/order of operations, tool selection, speed/feed parameter selection)
• Identify, select, and procure appropriate tooling for job‑specific applications
• Develop standardized best practices for job and machining processes
• Continuously improve design and production efforts in close collaboration with the engineering team

• Program and machine using CAM software and 3‑ and 5‑axis CNC milling and lathe machines (NX CAM required)
• Positive interaction in a team environment
• Rigorous attention to detail and pride in precise work
• Knowledge of G‑code editing, canned cycles, and integrated probing systems
• Basic working knowledge of metals, plastics, and fundamentals of mechanics (stress, strain, etc.)
• High level of responsibility and communication within a full‑time remote working environment
• Separate workspace that allows uninterrupted team and customer meetings
• Assembly experience and working knowledge of basic fasteners and hand tools

• Experience with NX CAM, Fusion 360, CATIA, and/or Powermill
• Experience with macro programming and developing/improving CAM post code
• CMM ASQ certification
• Aerospace manufacturing background in advanced composites, machined parts, aircraft assembly and systems integration
• Experience programming robotic arms and Swiss‑style lathes
• Strong quality control skills
