Dillon’s Planning and Design technical group is growing and we are looking to add additional senior resources to support our team. As in interim Senior Environmental Planner you will work up to 22.5 hours a week, supporting projects and marketing initiatives within the EA space. The successful candidate will have opportunities to hold various team roles, including but not limited to Senior Environmental Planner, Environmental Lead, Environmental Manager, Project Director, Project Adviser and others.

We are looking for demonstrated experience on large, complex projects delivering EAs, environmental permitting/approvals, and environmental compliance monitoring. Notable experience should include a leadership role delivering EAs for linear infrastructure such as pipelines, electric transmission lines, roads, highways, and transit. The ideal candidate will have experience with provincial EA legislation under Ontario’s EA Act, including Individual/Comprehensive EAs, as well as Class EA processes (e.g., Municipal Class EA, Ministry of Transportation [MTO], Hydro One, Metrolinx/TPAP), Knowledge of federal EA legislation (e.g., Impact Assessment Act, Canada Energy Regulator Act, etc.)

and ability to work with Indigenous communities would be an asset.

We are seeking candidates for the position of Senior Environmental Planner in any of our Ontario offices. You will be a member of Dillon’s national Environmental Planning group and will work closely with our in-house teams of engagement specialists, biologists, environmental scientists, land use and policy planners, and the full range of engineering disciplines located in offices across Canada. You will be a key part of our multidisciplinary group serving our diverse range of public and private sector clients.

Responsibilities


What your day will look like

As a key team member, you will have the opportunity to:

Project Delivery

  • Lead and support projects for public and private sector clients related to EA, environmental permitting and approvals, and environmental compliance monitoring, with a focus on linear infrastructure EAs (Individual/Comprehensive EAs, Municipal Class EA, MTO, Hydro One, Metrolinx/TPAP)
  • Lead and support federal EAs and work with Indigenous communities. Work with multi-disciplinary teams on exciting and challenging projects, with a focus on removing barriers and improving access on roads, highways, transit, and active transportation facilities
  • Support, develop and lead key innovative EA consultation processes
  • Play a key role in the growth and development of the team by empowering, inspiring and energizing the team through project experience

Business Development

  • Build client relationships through identification of market opportunities, client communications, preparation of proposals, and business development activities
  • Ability to review and respond to RFPs and prepare project proposals
  • Contribute to Dillon’s corporate profile through active participation in professional associations and committees
