Arcadis is searching for a Submittal Review Engineer/Staff Water Engineer to support and grow our Water team in White Plains, NY. This candidate will use their expertise and technical knowledge to deliver design work for water/wastewater clients in New York and across North America. This role is hybrid requiring in-office presence, flexibility to work from home, and occasional field work.

Responsibilities
  • Support professional engineering services during construction; including construction observation, review of submittals and shop drawings, responses to request for information (RFIs) and permit closeouts.
  • Review QA/QC submittal reviews and RFI response comments from junior staff to ensure contract compliance.
  • Liaise with Project Managers/Team Leaders and clients to ensure effective communication on project matters.
  • Exercise judgment on details of work and in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives.
  • Communicate with varied stakeholders, collaborating with other design disciplines to ensure the integrity of the overall design or solution.
  • Further develop and understand the services delivered by Arcadis, of the client’s business and the industry sector to facilitate personal networking and develop personal credibility in the industry.
  • Play a vital role in Arcadis projects that consist of both office and field work, managing tasks to meet budget, timeframe, and quality objectives and meeting or exceeding client expectations.
  • Contribute to the resolution of technical issues on projects and provide technical guidance to other team members.
  • Carry out investigations and analyses to support the development of technical solutions.
  • Perform fieldwork activities such as site visits, construction inspection, asset inventory and plant operations information, process troubleshooting, and optimization.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in an appropriate area of engineering.
  • Minimum 4 years’ of experience in engineering and EIT Certification.
Skills and Abilities
  • Detail oriented and ability to provide technical guidance and work independently as needed.
  • Advanced research, data gathering, technical writing and analysis skills.
  • Developing skills including technical, project management, relationship management, sector expertise and commercial awareness.
  • Excellent interpersonal, problem solving, time management and communication skills.
Preferred Skills
  • New York PE License.
Salary and Benefits

The salary range for this position is $90,000 - $120,000. (Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.)
