Permanent, Full-time Salary: £38,000 - £40,000 DOE NXT Recruitment is supporting an established engineering services provider in recruiting an Engineering Surveyor to join their expanding team. This is a varied, client-facing role offering the chance to work across a wide range of sectors, carrying out statutory examinations of plant and machinery in line with current health and safety legislation. This is a home-based role with travel to client sites, offering a perfect balance between independence and structured support through internal scheduling and planning.

The role:

As an Engineering Surveyor , you will be responsible for completing thorough statutory inspections and examinations of plant and machinery, ensuring compliance with legislation and providing clients with clear, accurate, and detailed reports. This role combines technical expertise, client engagement, and autonomy, making it ideal for experienced engineers who value quality and professionalism.

Key responsibilities:

Conduct statutory examinations and inspections of plant and machinery Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation, including LOLER, PUWER, PSSR, and COSHH Produce detailed, accurate inspection reports Deliver a consistently high level of customer service Build professional, long-term relationships with clients Make sound technical decisions based on inspection findings Manage your own workload to meet agreed time frames Work independently while contributing to the wider engineering team Complete inspection reports using tablet-based systems

About you:

Minimum of five years practical engineering experience with plant and machinery Recognised qualification in mechanical engineering (HNC, HND, NVQ Level 4, or equivalent) Confident technical knowledge and strong decision-making skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Customer-focused with a professional, personable approach Highly organised with strong time management skills IT literate and comfortable using digital reporting tools Full, clean UK driving licence LEEA or similar inspection training is advantageous but not essential Please note, this role is physically demanding and may involve lifting, climbing, working at height, confined spaces, and exposure to varying environmental conditions.
