Mission Technologies, a division of HII, is seeking a high-caliber Staff Electrical Engineer to join our elite engineering team in Alexandria, VA. This role is pivotal in driving the technical vision for upcoming mission‑critical programs. You will serve as the technical lead for hardware development within the various phases, translating complex government requirements into innovative, cost‑effective, and manufacturable electrical systems.
You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams (Systems, Software, and Mechanical) to architect next‑generation solutions for C5
ISR, electronic warfare, and autonomous systems.
This position supports an on‑going proposal. When the proposal is awarded, HII will seek to hire for this position immediately.
Researches, develops, designs, and tests electrical components, equipment, systems, and networks. Designs electrical equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for commercial, industrial, and domestic purposes.
Minimum Qualifications- 9 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 7 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or 4 years relevant experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field.
- Minimum of three (3) years working as an Electrical Engineer in a commercial environment (May be inclusive with experience working as an Electrical Engineer)
- Experience working with other development contractors and trades to include non‑traditional applications
- Experience implementing Building Automation and System Controls
- Pass the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam
- Experience utilizing 3‑dimensional drafting such tools such as CAD, Solidworks, and Revit
- Must possess an active TS/SCI clearance w/Poly
- Possess a Professional Engineering license (PE)
- Experience working in multidisciplinary engineering teams
- Proficiency with electrical industry best practices, regulations, and safety standards
- Previous experience working on large teams
Office, industrial or shipboard environment. Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances. Lifting and moving of materials not to exceed the guidelines set for one man lift.
