Yourimpact
- Managing pods of 3-6 engineers who work with a dedicated Product Manager and Designer.
- All aspects of growth coaching, skills development and performance management.
- Working directly with the Chief Product & Technology Officer to establish and refine departmental policies and standards that help us succeed.
- Collaborating with PMs and Designers to guide project delivery.
- Sharing the value of your experience on engineering best practices.
- Helping to turn uncertainty into actionable plans
- Helping with hiring and onboarding of new technical team members.
- Coordinating infrastructure changes with appropriate teams.
- Helping to deliver on our engineering roadmap making sure our application is secure, performant and growing ahead of need.
- This is not a hands-on coding position. Your energies will be needed at a higher level than that.
- Have at least 5+ years of experience managing teams within the Software Development industry.
- Experience working with backend and frontend web programming frameworks.
- Have experience with people management responsibilities, including performance management, training and development, recruitment efforts, and onboarding/training planning.
- Are equipped with the skills to manage technical initiatives, project planning and prioritization amongst teams' skill sets and project load.
- Are passionate about growth coaching and helping others reach their potential.
- Can effectively communicate and work with stakeholders, both technical and non-technical, including executive levels.
- Are an effective listener with attention to detail, tenacity and the ability to self-manage
- Have well developed problem-solving skills with an investigative mentality, decision-making ability and a capacity for strategic and associative thinking.
- You enjoy participating in discussions and brainstorming sessions for new initiatives and documenting technical requirements.
- You have successfully built and grown teams of software developers during your career.
- A track record of great teamwork and the ability to work independently and drive projects to completion.
- Have an interest in putting development and management best practices in place.
- Educated to degree level with a proven ability for self-learning and development.
- Interest in the latest trends in UI/UX.
- Experience with building web applications in Ruby on Rails or VueX web application design.
- Experience with AWS, Circle
CI and the use of container strategies in production environments. - Your experience and technical depth allow you to develop and mentor others as well as build trust and credibility with your team.
