Aboutthe job
Kent is looking for a Lead Safety Engineer who will be responsible for coordinating the production of engineering deliverables and providing progress reporting for a project in accordance with the project plan. Typically, works as a Lead Safety engineer reporting to the project engineering manager on a feasibility, concept, FEED, detailed design or EPC project. Undertakes specified tasks / areas of work dependent on size and complexity of project, as defined by the lead engineer or project / project engineering manager.
Supervising and checking the work of other engineers as delegated by the project engineering manager. Responsible for communicating technical / project issues potentially impacting the project to the project engineering manager. The Lead Safety Engineer is typically accountable to the Project Engineering Manager depending on the size and complexity of the Project. The corporate reporting line is to the respective Departmental / Group Manager.
We follow a hybrid working model that combines office and remote work, with a requirement to be in the Woking office four days a week. This approach supports the development of a strong and effective team dynamic within Engineering.
Skills & Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee safety engineering activities across FEED and Detail Design projects.
- Supports the preparation of the Process Safety TDR and executes allocated tasks within the requirements of the project execution plan and TDR.
- Identifying and resolving discrepancies and divergences from original proposal / contract
- Responsible for project schedule and manpower budget
- Prepare monthly/weekly progress report
- Support the proposal team in the bidding process
- Ensures compliance with Kent’s ISO accredited QMS, and project specific procedures, guides and standards.
