Your Role and ResponsibilitiesAs a Motor Control Panel Commissioning Specialist, you will travel extensively across the US (and potentially beyond) to install, commission, maintain, and troubleshoot motor and generator control panels at various industrial sites. Your expertise will be crucial in:
- Leading installation efforts and providing technical direction for new motor and generator setups.
- Executing start-up and commissioning testing protocols in line with factory instructions.
- Collaborating with our engineering team to develop installation task lists and designs.
- Overseeing mobilization, demolition, and installation activities, including equipment shipping and labor supervision.
- Assisting with maintenance and testing of generator excitation systems and protective relays.
- Documenting system failures and solutions through detailed trip reports.
- Providing on-site support for installations, system startups, and customer training.
- Offering first-response troubleshooting assistance for emergency situations, even on weekends and holidays.
We’re looking for candidates who are not just qualified but passionate about what they do. Here’s what you need to bring:
- An Associate degree with 5 years of relevant experience, or a High School diploma with 12 years of experience.
- A willingness to travel 75-80% of the time across the US, often with little notice.
- Strong background in utility/power plant operations, with experience in prime mover controls and SCADA systems preferred.
- Solid understanding of synchronous machines and their connection to power grids.
- Familiarity with installation engineering design and project execution is a plus.
- Ability to interpret electrical connection drawings and schematics.
- Capability to obtain various industry safety certifications (e.g., MSHA, OSHA).
