What will you be doing?Reporting to the Senior Outage Planner, the Outage Planner will work alongside the site teams to support the development, optimisation, monitoring, and tracking of outage work scopes across our portfolio of 12 power plants. The role involves coordinating outage plans, integrating maintenance and operational requirements, and ensuring work scopes are clearly defined, scheduled, and progress is accurately tracked to support safe, efficient, and timely outage delivery.

Key responsibilities will be:
- Develop and implement outage plans alongside site teams for the biomass plant in line with company strategy. Monitor their progress and report variances and recommend corrective actions as required
- Oversee both the short-term and long-term performance, suitability and effectiveness of the sites outage plans
- Compare outage plans across sites to identify potential synergies, as well as ensuring outages are scheduled in a manner that reduces risk to a number of business functions (service, finance, procurement etc)
- Prepare and maintain job plans, work scopes, and task sequencing to minimize outage duration and cost
- Work with site teams to ensure availability of materials, tools, spare parts, and specialized equipment prior to outage execution
- Identify critical path activities and optimize schedules using planning software (MS Project)
- Monitor outage progress and provide schedule updates, forecasts, and variance analysis
- Support real-time outage execution, making schedule adjustments as needed
- Track outage performance metrics such as schedule adherence, cost, safety, and quality
- Capture lessons learned and support continuous improvement for future outages
- Interface with procurement and inventory teams to resolve material constraints
- Support post-outage reporting, closeout documentation, and cost reconciliation
- Supporting sites on both scheduled and unscheduled outages/shutdown
- Engineering degree / HND / HNC or equivalent qualifications & experience with experience of engineering planning in a power generation/engineering/manufacturing environment
- Detailed experience and understanding of plant outages
- Experience of maintenance planning and management activities in a large industrial facility
- Familiar with Microsoft Project is essential
- Demonstrate commitment to continuous improvement
- Excellent leadership and communication skills

This role is a full-time role contracted for 40 hours per week, working Monday to Friday.
The role will be home-based with the requirement to travel to sites as required. Some ad-hoc national travel may also be required.
