PositionEmergency Spill Response Project Manager – Full Time, Remote (Barrie, Ontario)
The successful candidate will manage projects typically related to transportation, residential fuel oil, and commercial chemical spills. The role involves issuing scientific reports, but the main objectives are to mitigate impact, remediate the site, and support clients in closing their files efficiently and cost‑effectively.
Ideal qualifications include a university degree in Environmental Engineering or Geosciences, or a college diploma in Environmental Sciences or related study, with a minimum of five years’ experience in the environmental field and at least two years of project management experience.
Role Responsibilities- Emergency response activities including initial investigation, real‑time remedial planning, retaining, and managing sub‑contractors, cost control, field supervision, and documentation.
- Project management of field contractors and production of organizational and scientific documentation of remediation progress.
- Client and regulatory report preparation and liaison with regulators and other stakeholders.
- Client engagement and participation in business development activities.
- Primary projects involve transportation losses with diesel fuel or domestic/commercial fuel oil releases.
- Decision‑making in the field with support from head office.
- Travel required; periodic evening and weekend work for which you will be compensated.
- Degree in Science or Engineering (Environmental or Earth Sciences preferred) or related diploma with applicable experience.
- Minimum of five years’ experience in the environmental field with at least two years of project management experience.
- Experience in soil and groundwater remediation projects, including delineation, monitoring, and management.
- Experience with invoicing, budgeting, and other project management functions.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- A valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel within the assigned region.
- Flexible schedule; willingness to work after hours on weekends when required.
- Competitive Pay: 77,400. CAD Annual.
