In this role / Dans vos fonctionsAs part of the Flight Test and Integration team, reporting to the Test and Analysis Manager (ABIVV), the Simulator Manager coordinates all activities related to the preparation and execution of tests on the ISTCR (Integrated Systems Test and Certification Rig or "Ironbird"). They serve as the main point of contact between the test center team, the engineering office, and the program, and are responsible for conducting safe, optimized and efficient test executions with the support of simulator specialists.
The main tasks involved in this role / Tâches principales- Coordinating and harmonizing platform upgrades to ensure test readiness with simulator specialists and maintenance teams.
- Leading a Test Readiness Review (TRR) with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the efficiency of test sessions on the platform.
- Maintaining the platform configuration and its compliance with state authorities for certification tests (Transport Canada).
- Ensuring close collaboration among the engineering office, the test team, and the flight operations team (test pilots, test engineers).
- Supporting testers in the preparation and execution of test sessions by providing documented details and limitations of the rig.
- Participating in troubleshooting and resolving technical problems (mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, simulation, etc.).
- Contributing to improving operational procedures for ground tests and defining processes and tools for the Flight Test and Integration Center.
- Building and sharing expertise with the engineering office to improve test execution over time, thereby minimizing the risk of failures.
- Consolidating a medium- and long-term activity plan for the ISTCR, taking all constraints into account.
- Holds a technical university degree in engineering or has equivalent experience.
- Demonstrates strong leadership, good communication and interpersonal skills, and enjoys working within an integrated and multidisciplinary team.
- Has at least 10 years of experience in the aerospace industry, with good knowledge of an aircraft’s architecture (e.g., A220).
- Has experience with flight operations, ideally with development and certification tests.
- Has a good knowledge of simulation, test instrumentation, and data acquisition systems.
- Is proactive, resourceful, and capable of finding creative ways to achieve results while adapting to rapidly changing situations and emerging obstacles.
