Global Edge Group is seeking a Radar System Maintenance & Support Technician. This position is based in Doha, Qatar.
Due to client-specific and visa sponsorship requirements, only candidates eligible for international assignment under U.S. passport sponsorship can be considered.
The Radar System Maintenance & Support Technician is responsible for conducting on-site technical maintenance, inspections, and support activities for radar systems and related control infrastructure.
This includes mechanical and electrical servicing, replacement of hardware components, on-the-job technical support to end users, and accurate configuration documentation.
Key Responsibilities:Maintenance Tasks
- Carry out routine preventive maintenance procedures on radar equipment, control centers, and subsystem interfaces.
- Perform corrective maintenance, including hardware removal and replacement (LRUs).
- Conduct visual inspections, cleaning, tightening of connectors, and basic functional testing. - Support senior engineers during installation, setup, integration testing, and fault isolation procedures.
- Assist in the commissioning of radar components and related ancillaries.
- Provide on-the-job support to local operators and technicians as required.
- Participate in test activities to verify readiness and operational performance.
- Compliance & Reporting:
- Accurately log maintenance activities, fault resolutions, and any configuration changes. - Maintain and update documentation for part numbers, serials, and versions.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and operational protocols.
- Work standard 8-hour shifts, with flexibility for 24/7 call-outs during critical faults or emergencies.
- Be able to respond within: 24 hours for critical issues
* 72 hours for non-critical issues - Participate in a rotational support schedule including weekends or holidays, if required.
Experience:
Required
- Technical diploma in electromechanical engineering, electrical maintenance, or equivalent field.
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in technical maintenance of complex systems or equipment.
- Proficient with mechanical assemblies, wiring, connectors, and equipment replacement tasks. - Previous experience with radar systems, military electronics, or air traffic control systems. –
- Familiarity with support documentation, safety logs, and fault tracking systems.
- Ability to support knowledge transfer and technician mentoring under guidance.
Certifications:
- - Valid safety and operational certifications (e.g. working at height, ESD handling).
- Proof of employment eligibility and identity documents as required for site access.
- Clearance-ready profile to work in secured installations.
- Technically hands-on with strong attention to procedural accuracy.
- Excellent teamwork with ability to follow instructions precisely.
- Comfortable in field operations and remote working conditions.
- Reliable, safety-conscious, and responsive to urgent operational needs.
- Additional Notes:
- Technicians will undergo an onboarding phase (approx. 2–3 months) to become fully familiar with the radar system. - Travel between multiple fixed and mobile sites is required.
- Willingness to train and certify under senior engineers is essential
