About the Role
Are you passionate about digital innovation in construction? Do you have a strong eye for visualisation and enjoy bringing construction sequences to life? Taylor Woodrow is looking for a Digital Engineer to join our team in Watford, working within a collaborative, digitally enabled environment where your ideas and expertise truly matter. As a Digital Engineer, you will support tenders, projects and pre‑construction activities across a range of infrastructure developments.
You’ll help drive digital excellence by utilising BIM, VDC and GIS methodologies to improve project outcomes, visual communication and data‑driven decision making. You’ll work independently while also collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, supporting our mission to deliver innovative, sustainable solutions.
- Support BIM delivery across tenders and live projects.
- Help prepare BIM Execution Plans (BEPs), Information Protocols and ensure compliance with ISO 19650 standards.
- Extract and manage digital information (IFC, COBie, XML).
- Set up and administer Common Data Environments (CDEs) such as Project Wise, iModel Hub, Viewpoint or SharePoint.
- Develop construction sequence visualisations and methodology animations – strong visual eye essential.
- Use 3D/4D tools to integrate programme, logistics and design information.
- Support quantification, planning (CPM) and 4D modelling.
- Produce rigging, rendering and animation content for tenders and project teams.
- Manage spatial, mapping and geospatial datasets to support projects.
- Convert and analyse field data, aerial imagery and digital mapping.
Support survey coordination and data integration.
- A good eye for visualisation and construction sequencing.
- Understanding of BIM, VDC and GIS workflows.
- Experience working with one or more CDEs.
- Digitally minded, curious, and comfortable working in an innovative engineering environment.
- Knowledge of relevant standards: ISO 19650, BS1192, ISO
10303 42, ISO
13567 (as applicable). - Experience with at least some of the following software:
- CAD/BIM:
Revit, Open Buildings, Micro Station, AutoCAD - Visualisation/Animation: 3DS Max, Blender, Cinema 4D
- 4D Simulation:
Synchro 4D Pro, Navisworks Simulate, Fuzor - GIS:
ArcGIS Pro, QGIS - Field/Reality Capture:
Field View, Cyclone, Context Capture
