Design Release Engineer

Hourly pay range $45.00-$47.00
Occasional Travel to Auburn hills, MI / Mexico Requested (if possible)

RESPONSIBILITIES

Work with designers to package wiring harnesses in vehicles using client's design guidelines.

Support vehicle builds events at Customer sites. Specifically, client's Windsor Assembly plant Act as company representative when other engineers are not present.

Incorporate DFM (Design for Manufacturability) guidelines into the design.

Support Cost reduction initiatives

Specify, document, and coordinate engineering changes.

Issue documentation to authorize design changes and track cost.

Review warranty claims to identify design improvements

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

3 Years of experience.

Education level:
Bachelor's degree in engineering.  Electrical or Mechanical preferred .

PREFERRED SKILLS

Logical thinking to solve design issues.

Good communication skills.

Open-minded personality to deal with a very dynamic customer.

Knowledgeable of Microsoft Office products

Occasional travel to Manufacturing plants in Mexico (if possible.)

Segment Signal and Power Solutions United States EDS

Ability to work from home when Assembly plant support is not needed.

Expected to attend meetings in person in Auburn Hills on occasion (if possible)

Occasional Saturday work with Overtime pay.
