AWE is looking for an Electronic Maintenance Technician to join our Radiological Instrumentation and Calibration Install team. The team is responsible for planned and reactive activities – testing, repair, calibration and replacement of radiological instruments that detect radiation or contamination.
Responsibilities- Work flexibly across numerous facilities, applying technical craft skills in maintaining radiological instrumentation.
- Use various hand tools and test equipment confidently.
- Work safely and securely, following test procedures and completing test records.
- Maintain personal training and complete relevant competency assessments.
- Hands‑on experience working with electronic equipment in a workshop or field‑based role.
- Experience re‑working PCBs using soldering irons.
- Engineering Apprenticeship with BTEC ONC/OND in Electronic and Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- Proficient in the use of computer and common MS packages.
- Approachable and customer‑friendly manner.
- Great team‑working skills.
- In‑depth electronic fault‑finding experience.
- Experience working on radiological instrumentation.
- BTEC HNC/HND in Electronic and Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- Confident in training and mentoring newer team members and apprentices.
- IT knowledge and experience.

Due to the classified nature of the work, there are limited opportunities to work from home. The successful candidate will spend the majority of their time on site at AWE Aldermaston.
