Overview
My client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Sustainability & Energy Modeller to join their team in the Cambridge area. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in driving sustainability and energy efficiency within the building services sector with a leading consultancy. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in energy modelling, sustainability, and project leadership, with a proven ability to manage teams and engage with clients effectively.
This role offers a hybrid working arrangement, with three days in the office and two days working from home, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment while maintaining work-life balance.

Day-to-Day
Collaborating with clients and stakeholders to understand project requirements and deliver tailored solutions.
Leading and mentoring your team to ensure the successful delivery of projects.
Conducting energy modelling and analysis using IES VE.
Preparing and presenting reports and recommendations to clients.
Staying up-to-date with industry standards and best practices, including Carbon, TM54, and TM59.
Participating in team meetings and contributing to a collaborative and innovative work environment.
Responsibilities
Leading sustainability and energy modelling projects, ensuring high-quality outcomes.
Conducting feasibility studies to assess energy performance and sustainability potential.
Preparing detailed energy assessments and reports to support project goals.
Utilizing IES VE to model and design energy-efficient buildings.
Applying knowledge of Carbon, TM54, and TM59 standards to ensure compliance and best practices.
Managing and mentoring a team of sustainability and energy professionals.
Acting as the primary point of contact for clients, effectively communicating complex concepts and fostering strong relationships.
Demonstrating project leadership by overseeing timelines, budgets, and deliverables.
Qualifications
Ideally, 10+ years of experience in sustainability and energy modelling within the building services sector.
Strong proficiency in IES VE and a comprehensive understanding of Carbon, TM54, and TM59 standards.
Proven experience in a client-facing role, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated ability to manage and lead a team effectively.
A passion for sustainability and a commitment to driving energy efficiency in the built environment.
Based in or willing to relocate to the Cambridge area.
