They are seeking a seasoned Regulatory Approvals Specialist to join their Regulatory Approvals and Compliance team. In this role, you’ll lead environmental assessment and permitting work for major projects, ensuring high-quality, defensible submissions that meet regulatory and stakeholder expectations. You will collaborate with cross-functional technical teams, Indigenous governments, regulators, and clients to navigate complex environmental frameworks and deliver successful project approvals.

This opportunity is ideal for a professional who combines strategic insight, technical excellence, and relationship-building skills with a proven ability to manage complex projects through the approvals process.

Salary: $90k - $130k DOE, with benefits, RRSP matching, annual bonus on top of salary (The final salary will be determined based on qualifications, relevant experience, expertise, and professional designations. Candidates who exceed these requirements or bring additional value to the team may receive a salary outside the specified range.)

Key Deliverables:

  • Demonstrate Expertise: Produce high-quality, defensible regulatory submissions that stand up to public, technical, and regulatory scrutiny.
  • Drive Efficiency: Implement project tracking tools and regulatory checklists that improve internal workflows and reduce review cycles.
  • Add Business Value: Identify and support new business opportunities through exceptional delivery and trusted client relationships.
  • Technical Excellence: You design and execute regulatory strategies tailored to each client’s needs, integrating environmental, technical, and stakeholder factors into cohesive approval pathways.
  • Client & Regulator Confidence: You represent the firm with professionalism and credibility, ensuring regulators and clients trust the quality, accuracy, and defensibility of your work.
  • Strategic Impact: You anticipate regulatory changes, advise clients on proactive compliance strategies, and contribute to thought leadership within the regulatory practice.
  • Collaboration & Mentorship: You share expertise generously—mentoring intermediate staff, reviewing deliverables, and helping foster a high-performing, collaborative team culture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive regulatory strategies ensuring compliance with federal, provincial, and territorial requirements.
  • Liaise with Indigenous governments, regulators, stakeholders, and communities, fostering transparent and respectful engagement.

  • Support business development efforts, contributing to proposals and identifying opportunities to grow client relationships.
  • Stay informed of policy and regulatory trends to help shape internal standards, tools, and best practices for project delivery.

Qualifications:
