Marine Engineering Submariner (MESM) – Subject Matter Expert

6 month contract – Inside IR35 / Remote work with occasional travel to Reading

40 hours p / week

The Marine Engineering Submarine (MESM) Subject Matter Expert (SME) is responsible for gathering, validating, and maintaining technical data to support courseware and media development programmes. The MESM SME will possess the appropriate knowledge, skills, and behaviours to understand technical data requirements, identify reliable sources, and ensure correct access to that data. You will work closely with Requirements, Courseware, and Media Teams to define technical data needs for Defence Systems Approach to Training (DSAT) courseware and media.

You will also support the contextualisation of training material to ensure correct language, standards, and conditions are applied.

• Work as part of the team responsible for the analysis, design, maintenance, review, and production of DSAT documentation and processes.
• Interview subject matter experts to collate required data and participate in workshops to agree findings from analysis.
• Work with customers, agents, and suppliers to identify technical data requirements and routes to obtain that data.
• Support courseware and media developers to contextualise training and ensure appropriate standards and conditions are applied.
• Maintain, update, and revalidate course technical data.
• Identify opportunities to better exploit existing training methods and media.
• Champion and promote a strong culture of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) compliance and continuous improvement.
• Carry out any other duties required to support training service delivery.

• Proven at-sea experience as a Category A (or Category
  
  B) Nuclear Watchkeeper.

• PWR2 experience
• Electrical engineering background
• Forward Marine Engineering duties
• Training requirements analysis, design, or delivery
• Member of a boat build crew
• Experience with DE&S or SDA
